About Sigrie
The team
- Jerome Leclanche (Adys) is the main developer and designer, responsible for the birth of the database and many of its tools.
- Belhorma Bendebiche (Amro) is in charge of much of the Javascript, and takes over with the backend whenever necessary. He is a skilled Python/Django developer and helped with early scripts. He is also responsible for the Sigrie table engine and the tooltips.
- Dinnerbone helped with the rest of the Javascript work, including the menu engine and the filter engine.
You can contact the team and the whole MMO-Champion community on IRC, #mmo-champion on QuakeNet. You will need an IRC client, such as X-Chat.
Software
- The database and hundreds of tools behind it are all coded in the powerful Python language. It is run under Nginx, through mod_wsgi.
- The Django Framework is behind the web interface of the database. Optimized to smoothly run on top of World of Warcraft data, many of Sigrie's patches have been sent upstream.
- Varnish and memcached together take care of high and low level caching.
- PostgreSQL is the rock-solid, blazing-fast database engine that powers Sigrie.
- StormLib, written by Zezula, powers a lot of tools dealing with MPQ parsing automation.
- Git is the Version Control System used internally. It's blazing fast!
- For BLP processing, PIL is used with a specially written BLP plugin.
